Here are some ways you can help:

Admission Host/Hostess:
Greet our visitors from around the world and take their admission fee using our cash register. Training is provided. Work 3-hour shifts on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis (3 1/2 hour shift in summer). Each volunteer will receive a Volunteer Handbook.

Gift Shop Attendant:

The Gift Shop Attendant is responsible for assisting customers with their purchases and overseeing the appearance of the gift shop during their shift. Training for use of the cash register and credit card machine will be provided and a Volunteer Handbook will be given to each volunteer. Work a 3 hour shift weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (3 1/2 hour shift in summer).

Tour Guide:

Guide our visitors through the museum and give them information on the art and history of the carousel as well as specifics on the current exhibit. Tour guides also operate the ca. 1939 Allan Herschell carousel. Training is provided and volunteers will be given a guide book on the current exhibit. Work 3 hour shifts on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. (3 1/2 hour shift in summer)

Carver:

Work in our upstairs workshop and relay to our visitors the process of carving carousel horses. Carving experience preferred. Training on the process of carousel horse carving will be provided. Be available to work during Museum open hours for a 3 hour shift on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.
