Ongoing Exhibits
A number of historical pieces are on long-term loan to the museum and can be enjoyed by visitors in addition
to the carousel, Dentzel Carving Shop and other items. These include a Wurlitzer Model 125 band organ circa
1920; an English "Roundabout" circa 1900; a Herschell/Spillman steam engine circa 1903; a Mangel’s wagon
mounted children’s carousel circa 1910; a large wooden gondola from a German track carousel circa 1900; and
various scenery panels, carvings, and other memorabilia.
In addition to the long-term exhibits and special exhibits, the museum displays many pieces from various
collectors, amusement parks, and other sources.
A visit to the museum at any time will assure a chance to look closely at a major display of historic carousel
pieces. Because of the fluid nature of the exhibits, return visits are sure to bring new knowledge and a chance to
see additional carousel history.

Exhibit Sources
As part of the its preservation program, the museum accepts selected carousel horses, chariots, carved panels,
band organs, and similar items and will completely restore them. In return the owner of the
pieces agrees to maintain the items at the museum for a set time, usually three years.
The Merry-Go-Round Museum also solicits display and exhibit pieces, not requiring restoration, that will add to
the public's awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of the history of the carousel. For special showings, the
museum seeks exhibits from amusement parks, carnivals, and private individuals and encourages long and short
term loans of memorabilia and antiques from earlier periods of the amusement and carousel industry. The museum
insures and safeguards all display items while they are in the museum's care.
Donations of cash to purchase exhibits or of historic carousel memorabilia are encouraged. The Museum will
provide an appropriate receipt for tax purposes.
